
Foundations Archaeology is an independent commercial unit based in Swindon, which operates country-wide. It is a well- established, small company, which has been trading for over 20 years. Due to a successful year there is currently a need for additional members of staff. The work will be based out of the Swindon office, but will involve stay-away projects across the UK, as required, for which accommodation; subsistence and mileage (where applicable) will be paid.

Position: Archaeologist
Financial: £19,200 - £20,500 (dependent upon experience and pending pay review)
Timescale: Permanent following the successful completion of a 3 month Probation Period
Skills required:
- Full UK driving licence, clean.
- Minimum 6 months experience of fieldwork.
- CSCS certified.
- Membership of CIfA desirable.
- Minimum PCIfA or equivalent required.
Personal Skills:
Enthusiastic, ethical, hard-working and flexible, as well as being able to use initiative. The successful candidate will be required to work effectively as a team player as well as independently and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Position: Supervisor/Senior Archaeologist
Financial: £20,500 - £25,000 (dependent upon experience and pending pay review)
Timescale: Permanent following the successful completion of a 3 month Probation Period
Skills required:
- Proven track record in supervising a variety of commercial, fieldwork projects.
- Previous experience in client and supervising bodies’ liaison.
- Extensive experience in writing fieldwork (grey literature) reports and experience in desk-based assessments desirable.
- Full UK driving licence, clean.
- CSCS certified.
- Membership of CIfA desirable.
- Minimum ACIfA or equivalent preferred for Supervisor but required for Senior Archaeologist.
Personal Skills:
Candidates should be enthusiastic, ethical, hard-working and flexible, as well as being able to use initiative. The successful candidate will have proven experience in relevant roles within commercial archaeology organisations. S/he must be able to work effectively as a team player as well as independently and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. S/he must have good prioritising and organisational skills in order to supervise fieldwork, post excavation work and be able to work effectively to short project timescales.
